SOBLE again protested that he was not - withholding information, SOBLE denied that he ever made a statement or that he had knowledge of a conference among BARUCH, BOHLEN, TRUMAN and EISENHOWER. SOBLE repeated story that FONIN of Amtorg sent letter concerning offering of bristles to BORIS SOBLE in Canada in 1942. JACK SOBLE dented mowing at that time the significance of this letter, although he admitted that the Soviets in Russia hed told him they would make contact with him in this mamer. SOBLE then repeated story of meeting FOXIN and ZUBILIN in New York City. SOBLE stated that it was not until the third or fourth meeting with ZUBILIN that he met LIZA ZUBILIN. SOBLE stated that at thet time, ROBERT SOBLE was not in touch with the Soviets, but that he, JACK, 4ntroduced ROBERT to TORILIN later in 1942. SOBLE repeated story that ALEXANDER ELIAS met ZUBILIN in New York City and placed this date as probably in early month, 1943, SOBLE one ee that ELIAS knew ZUBILIN was from Soviet intelligence.
