IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Mr. Nixon submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Com-
mittee on the Judiciary
RESOLUTION
Whereas J. Edgar Hoover has recently completed twenty-five
years of service as Director of the Federal Bureau of In-
vestigation; and
Whereas under the leadership and direction of J. Edgar Hoover
the Federal Bureau of Investigation has developed into a
law-enforcement agency without equal in its effective appre-
hension of the guilty and its zealous protection of the rights
of the innocent; and
Whereas J. Edgar Hoover in the direction of the Federal Bureau
of Investigation has set an outstanding example for effective
administration and unselfish public service: Therefore be it
Resolved, That the House of Representatives hereby
expresses to J. Edgar Hoover and to the Nation—
(1) its appreciation of, and its commendation for,
