And, as you also know, my one criterion haa been, "Have these men served their trust faithfully?" By these critical, impersonal and far-reaching studies, I have been able to arrive at somewhat conclusive judgments of a largs number of our public and prominent men, In my mind and in such Jui gment, no man in America has served the cawe of this nation more fMfmithe fully, more ceasclessly, more unselfishly than has J. Edgar Hoover, nor haa any been more forward~looking as to the dangers confronting this nati or fought more tirelessly to be prepared to meet and thwart those dangers when they should come. In a word, J.Edgar Hoover ia the epitome of the whole people's faith in their govern- ment, f he 1 for he his not let them down, nor verily do I be- lieve that he ever would. He therefore deserves that recognition, richly.
