Miss Beahm Oliver McKee of the Evening Star called to Miss Gandy advise they have an Assoctated Press dispatch from Miami stating that Captain Sanchee of the Cuban Wational — Police Acd been tn Miami and was enroute to Washington-td confer upon Mr. Hoover the medal of the Cuban Government; that he also haa a message from the President of Cuba thanking the FBI for tts cooperation in the Lunning case. Mr. McKee wanted to know tf there were any comment we could make aa to when the medal would be conferred, whether it would be possible to have photographers present, etc. I told him tt wags not possible for us .to say when the medal would be conferred, or to furnish any details. JI told McKee that as he recalled, the fact that a medal was to be conferred has already appeared tn the papers. He wondered whether we would keep hin advised as to the situation.
