RE: RETIRELENTe
In accordance with your suggestion, I am submitting — x
herewith certein inforration concerning retirement payments
which would be made by the Director and benefits which would .. --.—-—
accrue te hin in evert no back payments for previous service
were mades
In the event the retirement legislation is approved by
the President and becomes effective durinz this year, and if
retirezent deductions are nade fram the Director ‘e salary until he
reacnes the retirement age of 62 years, there will heave been
deducted an amount of $7,550.
Interest compounded annually would amount te approximately
#4,000. There would be an amount to the Director's credit of
approxirately $11,000. talline into consideration the £1.00 a month.
- deductions from the amounts paid which are held in a retirement fund.
Considering that these are the only payments made by the Director,
his annuity after retirement would be approximately $1,550. If he
elected to accept a preferred annuity, he would receive an amourt
ef epproximately ¢1,75C. per ammum.
If the Director elects to make back payments from the effective
dete of the Retirement Act, August 1, 1920, there will be paynents He
.— amounting to £5,066.55. It is my recommendation that back may
be not made by the Director. be
