Conversation of Mr. Tamm and
Director, 2/20/36.
In regard toe the transfer of Agent Levereux to Miami as resident
Agent Mr. Tamm stated that Devereux's wife is about to be confined and Mr.
Hoover stated to find some other Agent to send.
Mr. Tamm stated he had received a call from Brantley in regard to a
surveillance being maintained on the residence of Harry [Campbell at Tulsa; that
one of the Agents went to pay the rent and owmer stated" she knew government Agent:
were in the house and so did Campbell's people; that he would talk to Mr. Connelle:
but that the surveillance would be removed as it was doing no good now.
Mr. Tamm stated Mr. Mcahon had inquired if the Bureau had ever conducte
an investigation into small loan companies from the interstate angle and was told
we had not. He also stated an inguiry had been received from the State Denartment
ebout Gisposition of some information in the Lindbergh case and were informed this
wo.ld be handled through the sublicity director of the Devsartment.
About tre investigation for the Attorney General a Mr. Hoover
BV ¢ -le ented to leave the decision up to the Attorney General.
_ Mr. Hoover asked Mr. Tamm to check on the investigation requested by
Walter|Winchell of Willie Mass.
