FACTS .
- By reference from the Director's Office the writer accepted
a telephone call from the abovc-naned individual, who was in the office of
Senator Jonnson of Colorado at the time. He indicated that he is engaged
in the mining business in Colorado and had voluntarily come to Yashington
\ to testify before the Ways and Means Committee concerniny lerislation
AN affecting the mining industry. At the conclusion of his testimony about
.. a week aco, he was accosted in the Capitol Building by several individuals
who he thought were F3I agents inasmuch as they identified themselves as
VN covernnent investigators by displaying certain credentials. They questioned
NX. him concerning his possession of four gold coins which he had exhibited to
the above-mentioned committee, and indicated thet he was violating 4
