During the period of hostilities, the activities of the International Criminal- Police Commission became almost non-existant. At present they are null. This international organization had as ite aim; 1) Insuring and developing the fullest ma tual agsistance among alicriminal investigation departments, within the framework of .the laws governing the various States; 2) Assuring the creation and development of all institu- tions capable of contributing effectivaly toward tha repression of common law erime. There {s no need of setting forth at length the services | rendered by the International Criminal Police Commission, before the war, in the fight against ‘inter- national’ Criminals. The direct interchange of informae-~ tion among the Chiefs of the national Central Offices, on the one hand, and between those Offices and the Inter- national Offices of Documentation In Criminal Matters of the Commission, 6n the other hand, have made the coopera- tion of that international organization absolutely indis-~ pensable to any State which {as anxious to suppress international eet
