He stated that in his capacity as Secretary General and Adninistrator of the Commisston he was about to close the Comnission's accounts and that he wanted to ascertain whether the contribution of the :ountries having accepted member= ship had been fully paid and desired to know when the Bureau would pay its contribution, He was written under date of Lecember 18, 1940, and acvised that, unfortunately, matters beyond our control made it impossible for the Bureau to assume full membership in the International Criminal Police Comnission at this time, Late in 1941 the Bureau received a communication advising that the Ti.ternational Criminal Police Commission had been trans- ferred from Vienna, dustria, to Berlin and sucgesting that all communtcations be forwarded to Berlin. On December 1, 1941, the Erecutive Conference unanimously recomuended that no further con- munication be addressed to this organization, It would appear from the files that the Burea: had stopped communicating with the Commisston several months before, As things now stand, the provision for $1500 remains in the Bureau appropriation. It would appear that the phraseology on this matter simply provides that no more than this amount can be spent for membersnrip in the International Crimtnal Police Commis- Sion.
