Quotation of February 15, 1999. ee eee weet e $2589.35) The Director indicated on Insvector Lester's memorandum of June 29, 1937, that the necessary sum for membershi~ should be included in the Bureau's appropriation. The matter was taken up with the Attorney General by memorandum dated July 13, 1937, showing a maximum possible membershin cost of £1,509 and suggestins that the appropriation for the fisenrl year 1939 include such an iten. By memorand.n dated Amust 9, 1937, the Attorney General sucgested the Director discuss this matter with him. By memorandum dated fujgust 25, 1937 to Mr. H. J. MeClure, General Agent, the Bureau requested that the following phraseoloy be included in the Bureau's estimates for the fiscal year 1939, "and an emount not to exceed £1,500 for attendance at the annual meeting: of the International Criminal Police Commission." By memorandum dated March 8, 1933, lfir. Tamm advised he had talked to Mr. Corder of the Department regarding this matter ani efter consulting the Director advised Mr. Cozier that the £1,500 reauested for membership in the International Criminal Police Comission was for the membershin fee -, only and not for expenses of the delegate and other ineidental expenses which might arise in connection therewith. Mr. CozLer su,j4,ested that the Comtission mizht chance the membershio fee end if the new fee were larger, the Bureau would be limited to the fee of °1,500 which hed been uppropriated for that purpose.
