We knew this and you know this, & good wary of the American people sre aware of it, but they don't imow what to do about it. This danger exists, predoninately, here in eur ew sountry, through ths subversive activities ef the eommmist party. Our legislators do net seem te be able te enact laws which will held up under the scrutiny ef the Supreme Court, Paoh decision te eonviet known cormunist leaders ef eontempt ef Congress is reversed by your group. Until two days cgo when the eonvistion of Frank Wilkinson and Carl Braden was upheld, these persons were going free to eontine their subversive activities, Since you were mmbored among those in favor of reversing this sourt decision, we assume that you feel that the preeent laws are not sufe ficient to eonviet these persons of any felony. Perhaps the answer te our preblem eould be this: As meabers of the highest eourt in the land you are the ultimte in interpretation ef our laws, Gould not you and the ether Supreme Gourt justices teil us, the people, er at least eur representatives in Congress what kind of lew we must enact which will stiek--wrich will not be reversed by an appeal; and at the same tine will not “eserifice individual freedom ef religion, speech, prees, assembly and petition to governmental eontrol"? We mist have seme action te a@p sommnist astivity within eur sountry. :Yhe American people ere apathetie only because they fee) thet their hands are tied. if you sould help prove to them that there is still hope for SUl Coverraserns, shrough sontre] of thess Tstecue qhe ars working te sontrol us, you would find that the people will ecme through as ) they alvays have in times of emergency. wre Justice, we are loyal American eitisens who believe in God and eountry, We kmow that Ged will eare for us and everyone else whe trusts in Rin. But eur concern is for the here and pow as well as the hereafter. We pray Ahat Ged will Juide you in your decisions, so thet we my preserve the United ‘States of dnerion as the "land ef the free", Sincerely, and Mra, Janes De Thompson oes Praneis Witers => 2 - Ae ak dotm Kéigar Recover a
