AT T-8 advised om December 5, 1961 that DORCTHY
MILLER was @ member of the Forbes Communist Party
Club im New York City at that time. . ;
This source stated om Jume 6, 1963 that the
Forbes Club meeting of the Lower Eastside Communist
Party Section was held om Jume 5, 1962 at 226
East i2th Street, New York City. It was announced
at this meeting the victim was down in the South
working but no details comcerning this work were
revealed,
This source said om July 11, 1963, that a Forbes
Club meeting was held om July 10, 1962, at 226 East
2th Street, New York City. A report was given
at this meeting om dues status of each club member.
It was announced that the victim had been
delinguent in her dues since 1960 or January, 1961.
However, it was stated in this report that where a:
member is working out of the city, he was not required
to pay dues unless reassigned to another club in the
area where he was working.
RE HARRY C, STEINMETZ
AT T-9 om December 22, 1952, advised STEINMETZ
was a2 member of the Communist Party, San Diego,
California, sometime during the period 1933-1945.
T-9 identified STEINMETZ as being from Sam Diego
while attending Communist Section meeting comprised
of various locals of the American Federation of
Teachers Uniom im Palo Alto, Califormia.
The American Federation of Teachers was designated
by the California Committee om Um-Americam Activities
1943 report, page 115 to be a Communist Front organizaq-
tion for the Teachers of America.
