The Bureau did establish liaison with the Navy and Commerce Departments who were investigating the crash and did furnish limited technical assistance; however, no actual FBI investigation was made. Our files show ‘ that Commerce and Navy do have voluminous background data regarding this crash, and Mr. Hoehling was so advised.
