The "red scare" is ulways introduced by men who want to stifle
reason or divert attention from real end pressing problems.

everywhere - problems wnich must be wet, if we are really interested in stopping
the spread of communisn.
You can't fight communism with guns and fear and win.
Our present administration, firuly in the grip of huge monopoly
interests, financiers, and cencrals, is more interested in protecting private
interests. abroad than in serving the interests of the general welfare, either
at ho-e.ar abroad.
| The problems of the peoples of Italy, Greece, China, and Latin
America must te met heed on, if we are to compete with communism. lhieeting
these problems will require strict control of international monopolies ~
control of cartels. ‘The power of the United States government, our public
traasury, and the bodies. of our young men must not be used to support international
big business.
