Below a clipping which appeared in the Washington Post da
3+26~48, and which stated that Eisler was to leave the United States for
Vienna, Austria, on that date, you penned the question "Ia he going “4 ;
voluntarily and if so doesn't that give him a "break! so he can apply for | f
return sometime in future?" 4
Liaison today learned from Mr. Mackey, Chief of the Exclusion iP
and Expulsion Section, INS, Philadelphia, that: F
(1) Eisler left voluntarily but under an order of
ceportation, The voluntary departure was by stipulation, to any country
except those contiguous to the United States,and subject to verification
(2) He actually was deported in spite of stipulations agreed
upon.
(3) He can not be re-admitted into the United States except with
the consent of the Attorney General. He is excluded under Sectim 3,
Immigration Act of 1917. If he re-appliies and is admitted by mistake
without the consent of the attorney General, he is subject to exclusion
and/or expulsion. A new deportation order and warrant would have to be
issued at that time.
For your information, the Associated Press reported today that
Eisler arrived in Czechoslovakis. 3-28-48, and said upon arrival he was rn.
