As individuals struggle to become revolutionaries,
they usually progress through stages. If the process
continues, they not only see the need to fight, but also pre-
pare themselves to do so. Rot all revolutionaries are .
fighters; this is natural because in making revolution,
people must engage in & wide range of practice. Some
comrades must agitate among the exploited workers in the
factories, mines, fields and among the unemployed. Some
engage in community struggles around welfare, education,
human rights, ahild care, medical care, the aged, youth,
women and racism. Those who engage in mass work of this
type prove they are rev olutt ona tT rous not reformist
reminding the people that only t h unity and revolu-
tionary armed struggle will they seize their freedon.
These revolutionaries understand that conredes who engage
in armed struggle are fighting in the interest of the
people and therefore must be supported. The fighters
know that they need the people's support to survive.
All revolutionaries, not just the fighters, must be
prepared to fight. As a result pany combat elements will
cous from the ranks of the taotical support units. Some
wey meet fight because their support skills are too vaiu-
able to the revolution; but the still will be prepared
to fight if necessary, if only to defend themselves. A
revolutionary need not be in combat to see clearly that
a war is in progresse
When one agrees with the strategy of the Bymbionese
Liberation Army, it becomes Ampractical to also follow
the eget tet eee aspirations of some leaders of above-
gro political organizations who denounce armed struggle
and continue to organize new organizations everytime ons
falls apart, failing to understand that the people must
be organized to fight the enemy} and when leaders fail to
atart the fight, the people become demoralized and fall
from that organization.
Leaders who behave in this way, are reactionary, @g0-
tistical, opportunist and anti-reyolutionary, since their
actions allow only for the continued grouping and re-
grouping of the same revolutionary people for the fight
that never comes.
One must organize in support of something; one does
not organize in support of having or delonging to an organ-
dzations Instead, one must have a purpose to organize
