The letter indicated that the writer had custody of PATRICIA HEARST and would turn her over to her father for the money. Bureau Agent, posing as Mr. HEARST's representative, received cell at above bank of telephones at 8:03 PM on | January 4, 1975. Bureau Agent was directed to various pay station telephones in the vicinity of Hopxins Airport from 8:03 PM until 1:40 AM, January 5, 1975. Bureau Agent received © eight (8) telephone calls from the unknown subject during this situation. The package was left at the site indicated by the unknown subject and kept under physical surveillance without any individual picking up or coming in close proximity to the package. > All pertinent telephones had been trapped. No trace was effected. Unknown subject furnished no information during calls that he had information regarding the whereabouts of PATRICIA HEARST.
