On 11/29/74, Assistant Special Agent in Charge RK. HARDMAN, Alcohol, robacco, and Firecums, Falls Church, Virginia, provided information concerning a possible sighting of PATRICIA HEARST. HARDMAN advised that during the week of 11/25 - 29/74, he was on a hunting trip on Spruce Mountain in the Mongahela National Forest which is on the West Virginia/border. On Wednesday, 11/27/74, he observed a white female in the covpany of two white males camping on Spruce Mountain. Tne white female closely resembled photograpns he had seen of PATRICIA HEARST. HARDMAN provided a description cof the tivo wnite males. HARDMAN stated that these people were camped ten miles West of Franklin, West Virginia. On Route 33, there is a sign which reads, “Spruce Mountain." HARDMAN stated that one goes sixteen to seventcen.milcs toward tae top of Spruce Mountain and this is the area where the individuals were camped. Pittsburgh Division advised. Photographs and descriptive information concerning the fugitives in this case have been aiforded to the Loudoun County Mirror newspapsr.
