ABDUCTION OF FRANK RICHARD SUTTER
ON MAY 17, 1974, AT LOS ANGELES,
CALIFORNIA

California. advised at approximately 6:45 AM on May 17, 1974,
e was abducted by two white females and a white male. He
-ddentified photographs of EMILY MONTAGUE HARRIS and PATRICIA
CAMPBELL HEARST as being identical to the females, and a
-photograph of WILLIAM TAYLOR HARRIS as being identical to
the male. The females were armed with handguns, and WILLIAM
:-HARRIS was carrying a .30 caliber machine gun. WILLIAM HARRIS
identified himself to SUTTER as an SLA member, and told
SUTTER if he gave the group any trouble, they would have to
shoot him with their "cyanide bullets". HARRIS spoke of
‘the SLA's political philosophy during the period of SUTTER's
abduction, acknowledging the group could not defeat the
*- United States Government. HARRIS claimed the SLA's political
' philosophy was being heard due to the activities of the group.
He further advised the SLA was not bound to violent activity,
but would not hesitate to use violence if it served their
~. purpose. SUTTER was forced to lie under a blanket in the
back seat of his car for approximately 63 hours while these
individuals drove his car. He was freed in the Griffith Park
area of Los Angeles, and was informed his car would be left
further down the road.
DEATH OF SIX SLA MEMBERS AT
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, ON
MAY 17, 1974
On May 17, 1974, ANGELA ATWOOD, DONALD DAVID
DE FREEZE, CAMILLA CHRISTINE HALL, NANCY LING PERRY,
PATRICIA SOLTYSIK, and WILLIAM LAWTON WOLFE, all identified
as members of the SLA, were located in a residence at 1466
East 54th Street, Los Angeles, California. A gun battle
ensued with law enforcement officers, during which a fire -
started in the residence. The residence subsequently burned
to the ground, and the bodies of the above individuals were
recovered from the ashes. Among the items found in the ashes
were WILLIAM HARRIS' United States Passport, Number A1351843,
