When no response was received,.a tear gas ; canister was thrown through one of the windows. The suspects immediately began firing at police officers on the scene, using automatic weapons of various types. This firing continued for a considerable period of time and the law enforcement officers fired in return, ~. “the house occupied by the suspects was completely destroyed by fire. The Los Angéles Fire Department was © available, but could not move into the area until the shooting stopped and the occupants did not cease firing until the house was completely in flames.
