The caller, who claimed to be a member of the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA), indicated bombs were set to explode in the post office in Newark and that other bombs were going to be set off. Appropriate local and Federal authorities were advised of the above. The SLA is a multiracial revolutionary group which has claimed credit for the 2/4/74 kidnaping of Patricia Hearst. No evidence exists to indicate the SLA is operational outside of California; however, tape recording in question should be submitted to the Laboratory for exami- nation. This has been coordinated with the Bombing Unit of Section IS-3, Intelligence Division, and with the General Investigative Division.
