, p! Le _ ¥ 5 { Because of the tax situation, would the Hearst Corporation get any sort of receipt to support this disbursement of funds? Appropriate documentation from the FBI, it is understood, could be afforded covering this contingency following the payment of a reward. ‘6. Should there be any restrictions by Hearst or the FBI on payment of reward money? The Hearst Corporation would have to decide precisely what the conditions should be for payment, that is, whether it should be merely for the location of subjects, the apprehension of subjects, the conviction of subjects, the safe return of Patricia Hearst, or a combination of all four. It is strongly — felt that the confidential reward if decided upon by the Hearst Corporation, should not be made public until the FBI has had sufficient opportunity and is’ given sufficient latitude to bring the availability of such a reward to logical sources determined by its San Francisco office in an effort to solve this case. This procedure will, of course, be expedited and if all possibilities are exhausted in a negative manner, the offer of the reward should then be made. ‘public through the news media. © ry 4 ~ ata i*> ed sateare te a TO — Rae > . ro ag Tre eee ie hor al ‘mi a ft | See, Se Ee a pig Neg a Ne a a ow,
