At approximately 2:15 p.m. on 3/9/74, ier terrence & radio announcer at KSAN, received a telephone call directing the radio station to the ladies' room at Foster's Pestaurant to obtain a tape. A stringer for KSAN and his date went to Foster's Restaurant at Sutter anc Polk but were unable to lecate the tave. They returned to the radio station at 7:15 p.m. and BUCHANAN put out an announcement over the air that they were unable to locate the tgre. The radio station alleqedly receivec a second call ano and his date | returned tc Foster's Restaurant where ey found the tepe taped to the wall of the ladies restroom, It was brought to KSAN and later turned over to a representative of the "San Francisco Examiner,“ a daily newspaper in San Francisco.
