Result of examination:
The Q1O011 and Ql012 pieces of rope are different “~*~
in composition, construction and diameter from the previously
submitted pieces of rope (specimens Q3 and Q4, PC-K5225 PV JA PR).
One end of each piece of rope in Q1011 and QLOI2 has a loop formed
with a single bowline., The loops in Q3 and Q4 were formed by
bending the end c~ the rope back and lashing it in place. The
ends of three pieces of rope in QLO1] and the three pieces in
Q1012 have been lashed with white cord. Specimen Q4 and one _
piece of rope in Q3 were lashed with brown cord. The other wd
piece of cord in Q3 was lashed with black cord. The lengths
of the pieces of rope in Q1O11 and Ql0O12 range from about 6‘
to 10° and all are about 1/4" in diameter. The purpose for
which QlO1} and QlOl2 was intended is not known,
Deposits of black spray enamel noted on specimens
Q1O1L and Q1012 lack sufficient identifying characteristics
to specifically associate this enamel with a particular source or
origin. The black spray enamel deposits on the rubber bands
of one piece of rope in QIlOL1 and of two pieces of rope in
Q1012 are suitable for limited comparison purposes should | a suspect
source be located,
Debris from the 01054 typewriter and from the
typewriter case included blond and brown Caucasian head
hairs, a dark brown Negroid head hatr, black hairs and |.
white hairs of cat origin and fibers of various types and
colors.

The epace bar of the typewriter has been replaced
with a piece of softwood which measures 1/4" x 3/4" x 7 3/16".
Several shavings of similar wood were found in the typewriter
and in the typewriter case.
