While there, | heard through the usual get - rumor mill (other agents, military counterparts).about a technique used ‘by military interrogators which was” * not allowed to be used by Agents. ‘The technique was to leave a detainee shackled.in an interrogation: -_ room for an extended period of time, twelve hours or more, and either tum the air conditioner ta its lowest: - possible temperature or off. Supposedly, the detainees were.not removed from the rooms even to relieve themselves.. This was only used for the diff cult detziness wha would not t cooperate. One day, while in one 3 of the e interrogation buildings, r was in one of ihe observation rooms which ieoked into twe-interragation rooms. | was in this fodm because the detainee | was interviewing was:in one of =~ " the interrogation-room observed from this room.
