These officers, however, during the general conversation on the day previous, had secured from Bentz the names of the participants in five other bank robberies in the State of Michigan. Bentz, however, would not discuss the details of those other robberies, at the same time stating that he did ~ not participate in those bank robberies. Incidentally, during the interview with Ed Bentz at the penitentiary, on occasions Bentz made statements to the effect that he had furnished cer~ tain information to the Agents of the Bureau at New York City: and elsewhere. This information was not at hand at the Atlanta Office. I am inclined to believe that it should be tances, for purposes of reference. In view of these cirounstances, should the Bureau deem same appropriate, it is suggested that ~ complete reports, memorandums and letters regarding all inter- views with Bentz should be transmitted to the Atlanta Office for study before any further interviews of consequence be held with Bentze The Agents of the office then will be in a position to interrogate Bentz in more detailed manner.
