Reeuilt of examination:
According to information furnished by your office ©60 through
Q78 represent the remains of three incendiery/pipe bombs consisting of one
gallon jugs filled with a flammable liquid, possibly gasoline and acid, with
a pipe bomb taped to the fugs. Further, you advise the firing system of
the pipe bombs included 9-volts batteries and alarm clocks and that two
of the devices were placed on the hood of a vehicle end the third device
was placed on a vehidle trunk.
The individual components of the incendiary/pipe bomb devices
are described in detail hereafter:
PIPE COMPONENTS
Present in eech Q63, O64, QE5, and Q66 is a fabanized metal
pipe end cap. A portion of the threaded section of a pipe nipple is
present in eech cep, and the end portion of the 963, O64, and Q§6 caps
is missing. The 963 and 64 caps sre 1" pipe size and the 65 and Q66
caps are $/4" pipe size. \
The threaded sections cf pipe broken off inside each pipe cap
appear to be the same pipe size as the respective cap. Present in each
67, Q7l and Q78 is the damaged remains of a galvanized metal pipe nipple.
Also present in Q67 ie an apparent galvanized metal pipe cap fragment. The
Q7T and Q78 pipe nipples are 3/4" standard weight pipe size pipe nipples.
The Q67 pipe nipple sppears to represent a pipe size approximately midway
between 9 3/4" and i" pipe size.
