For the information of the laboratory, the
following is a synopsis of captioned bombing:
During the evening hours of October 15, 1977,
unknown subjects detonated the enclosed IED at captioned
auto dealship causing approximately $3000 worth of damage
to ten motor vehicles. There were three IEDs which were
combination incendiary/pipe bombs described as one gallon
acid) with galvanized pipes taped to the jugs. Wiring
for the pipe bombs included Westclox travel alarm clocks
and Eveready 9 volt Alkaline batteries. Black eletrical
and silver ducting tape were utilized. Two devices had
been placed on the hood of a vehicle while the third
device was placed on a vehicle trunk lid. A small fire
was ignited following the explosion, however, most of
the damage was done by pipe fragmentation.
