Report sets out - With reference to FRANK SINATRA, Third Vice—
president of AFRA, the ‘Fraternal Outlook', official monthly
publication of the International Workers' Order, on 3/9/46, reflecte
that SINATRA had prepared an article on discrimination for a
magazine issued by the AYD. The 'People's Voice', until recently ~
a negro Communist publication, on 12/29/k5, announced that SINATRA
was to be honored at a dinner held at the Hotel Commodore under the
auspices of the publication 'Nev ‘asses! on 1/15/46. The joint .
Anti-Fascist Refugee Committee in its !News Bulletin' of 194k

NYC, one of which had been arranged by the CPA. However, the inft.
further learned that 5 id not appear at these meetings.
Confidential Informan advised that SINATRA had sent a letter
of regret to the CP Headquarters in NYC because he was not able to
attend a dinner on 5/9/46, given by the ‘Action Committees to Free -
Spain Now', the Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, and the
American Committee for Spanish Freedom. The informant advised
SINATRA had been listed as a speaker at this dinner.
