BACKGROUND
Frank Albert Sinatra, the well-known vocalist, was born December 12,
1915, at Hoboken, New Jersey, according to information set forth in his Select:
Service file and in his arrest record. His parents both reside at Hoboken, as
co his wife and two children. He attended four years of high school pilus one
year of business school and was married February 4, 1939, at Jersey City, New
Jersey.
ALLEGED SELECTIVE SERVICE VIOLATION
In March of 1944 Walter Winchell furnished an anonymous letter which
alleged that $40,000 had been paid by Sinatra to secure a 4-F Selective Servic
classification, As a result of this, the Bureau inquired into the Sglective
Service status of Sinatra and it was definitely ascertained that these allegat
were untrue and that Sinatra wes properly rejected for military service becaus:
of an ear ailment. The psychiatrist who examined Sinatra also concluded that
inasmuch as Sinatra suffered from psychoneurosis, he was not acceptable materi:
from a psychiatric viewpoint. During this Selective Service investigation, it
was also ascertained that Sinatra had an arrest record.

Frank Sinatra was arrested by the Sheriff's Office, Hackensack, New
Jersey, cn November 26, 1938, on a charge of seduction. The records of the
Second Criminal Judicial District of the County of Bergen, Hackensack, New Jer
reflect that Sinatre was charged on November 26, 1938, vy ae
with having sexual intercourse with her under the promise of marriage.

December 7, 1938, inasmich as it was ascerteined that was in fact marrie
Thereafter, on December 21, 1938 charged Sinat
with adultery and the case was remanded to the Grand dury. & no bill was retu
on January 17, 1939, on the adultery charge.
Tye files of the Identification Division aleo reflect that Sinatra w
fingerprinted on October 7, 1943, by the War Tepartment as a member of the USO
Camp Shows, Inc., and that on Jamary 30, 1947, he was printed by the Sheriff'
Office, Los Angeles, California, in connection with an application for a gun
permit. There is attached hereto a copy of the identification record, FBI
#3794610, together with a photograph taken by the Sheriff's Office, Hackensack
New Jersey, of Frank Sinatra.
