carried en article captioned "Stars Spur fuir Job Campeifn
in which it is set forth thet, Frank Sinetra was a speaker
on Februsry 25, 1946, et a rally in Los jngeles, California,
arranged oy the Music Division of the Hollywood Branch of
the Independent Citizens Committee of the Arta, Sciences ;
and Professions and that he was presented with a documents
gaid to huve been signed by Abraham Lincoln,in appreciation
for his work in behalf of rucial tolerance.

advised that Frank Sinatra was elected as one cf the
Vice-Chairman of the Hollywood Branch, Hollywood, California,
of the Independent Citizens Committee of the Arts, Sciences
end Professions on April 1), 1946.
The "New York Journal American," New York City,
issue of May 15, 1946, carried un article to the effect that
a rally would be heid in Madison Square Garden, New York City
on May 16, 1946, under the auspices of the Veterans Souncil
of the Independent Citizens Committee of the frts, Science
and Professions.

tolerance. According to informant, Sinatra concluded his
talk with the statement "tolerance also means the right
of the Chinese people | to decide themselves the kind of

An article in the "Deily worker," issue of we _
May 2l, tb. quoted Frank Sinatra as denying charges: thet
he was "crooning American bobby soxers into the hands of the
Communists." The article set forth that a representative
of the "Knights of Columbus" alleged that Sinatra had aligned
himself with Communists when he spoke at a. "Red rally of
16,000 left-wingers in Madison Square Garden” in New York
City. According to the article Sinatra stated that it was
