vette, 2 eA a ast The ‘world Youth Conference was cescrivec oy bhe California Comnittee on uneAmerican Activities In its report issued in 1948 as “an international catuering in London in Lovember, 1945, at which a comnisslon was created which developed the completely Somiunist dominared World Federation of Democratic Youth, The international xorkers Order was cited by the Attorney General of the United States as an organiza- tion within the purview of Executive Order No. 10450, CD American Youth For Democracy The program for the Second Annual American Youth for Democracy dinner which was held at the Anbassador Hotel, Los Angeles, California, on December 16, 1945, reflected that Prank Sinatra was presented with an award. A confidential informant who attended the dinner reported, however, that Sinatra was not present and the award was made to him through Mrs, Sinatra. A confidential inforenant of known reliability advised that on May 3, 1946, Phil Schatz, a reported Communist and member of the National jxecutive board and kxecutive Secretary of the American Youth for .semocracy, Detroit, Michigan, made arrangements for an affair for Frank Sinatra to be held at the Jewish Comunity Center at Detroit, Michigan, on May 13, 1946. It was reported that this rally was beld to combat anti-semitism and that all religions were invited to participate. A confidential end rellable informant advised that on May 16, 1946, Frank Sinatra was presentec with a - acrol] at an Inter~Cultural Rally in ietroit, Alehigan, whieh expressed apprectation for Sinatra's contributions to the Youth of America. According to the informant, this relly had been arranged by a group of Detroit Youth Clubs including the American Youth for Democracy.
