A confidential informant who attended the dinner reported, however, that Sinatra was not present and the award was made to him through Mrs, Sinatra. A confidential inforenant of known reliability advised that on May 3, 1946, Phil Schatz, a reported Communist and member of the National jxecutive board and kxecutive Secretary of the American Youth for .semocracy, Detroit, Michigan, made arrangements for an affair for Frank Sinatra to be held at the Jewish Comunity Center at Detroit, Michigan, on May 13, 1946. It was reported that this rally was beld to combat anti-semitism and that all religions were invited to participate. A confidential end rellable informant advised that on May 16, 1946, Frank Sinatra was presentec with a - acrol] at an Inter~Cultural Rally in ietroit, Alehigan, whieh expressed apprectation for Sinatra's contributions to the Youth of America. According to the informant, this relly had been arranged by a group of Detroit Youth Clubs including the American Youth for Democracy.
