Takes ‘Good wilt Role|
“on Labor Questions
By WILLIAM 8. NEAL
(IN.S.) As lines were drawn,
today for a battle to revise -the
- Wagner labor act, Secretary of
EZabor. Frances. Perkins assumed
the role of “good-will ambassador”
. of the Administration in dealing
with Congress on labor questions. |'
In a_ friendly gesture, Miss
Perkins invited members of. the
_ House Labor Committee to confer
with her at a luncheon next week.
Members of the Senate Labor
Committee, also are. expected to
attend. . :
STIRS CURIOSITY .
While the proposed get-together
was described merely as a social
_ gathering, the secrecy which sur-
rounded the invitation’ created
keen curiosity among members of
the Labor committees. —
Miss Perkins already has dis-
‘closed her efforts to bring peace
between the American Federation
of Labor and the Congress for In-
dustrial Organization and is pre-
pared, militantly, to defend b;
princfples of the Wagner
.act. There have been
