bors thought he lived there.
Platt actually lived at 15031 SW
68th Lane in the Spicewood sec-
tion of an upper ddle-class de-
velopment called The Hammocks.
Platt had lots of expensive things.
Neighbors saw a chocolate-browna
Jaguar, a Jeep Renegade, a white
Chevy Blazer, a pickup truck and «
motorcycle. ;
Platt’s second wife, Brenda,
answered the door at the house
Saturday. “I'm afraid to say
anything,” she said, closing the
door.
Neighbors. sald Platt and his
wife lived In the house with four
children. ve
Matixz’s daughter, 2-year-old
Melissa, was his pride end joy,
pelghbors sald.
“He mostly talked about his
baby,” sald neighbor Tins Brea-
nan. “He really loved her. He was

Melissa went to a day nursery at
Riverside Baptist Church, 10775

“He wouldn't emoke, he
wouldnt drink. He would say
ace before meals,” said neighbor
elen Brennan, who once had
dinner with Matix. .
The woman who told The
Herals about dating Matiz sald she
met ‘him at Riverside Baptist
Church. They went out for about a
month, she said, and then the
woman broke it off because she
did not. want to make tha.commit-
ment Matix sought.
She sald that Matix kept pic-
tures of his dead wife in his South
Dade home, but thet he appeared
comewhat detached In bis attitude
toward ber.
“He told me ebout his dead wife,
but it wasn't like he was giili
grieving.” she said.
A short. time later, Matix got
engaged to another woman, one he
bed known only three weeks. The
woman broke off the engagement.
Matix changed churches, joining
the Wayside Bapilst Church, and
began dating a third woman. They
were married in June.
“He came for two or three
- weeks abd married a pirl that is a
member of our church,” said the
Rev. Charles Fant, an etsoctate
pastor at Wayside, 7701 SW 98th
t. “He dido’t come that much
after he got married.”
_ The marriage lasted about a
month. Neighbors sald the woman
walked out. :
“She's golng through a fot of
emotional trouble right now be-
cause of the marriage,” sald Fant,
who would oot reveal the
woman's name. “She realizes she
jumped into It and made a foolish
decision. She's got a lot of wounds
from it.”
