THE DIVISION OF INVESTIGATION The Division of Investigation has the responsibility of... investigating offenses against the laws of the United States and collecting evidence in cases in which the Dnited States is or may be a party, and possesses primary investigative jurisdiction of those offenses against the laws of the United States not specifi- cally assigned by Congressional enactment to other Governmental agencies for investigation. This Division does not investigate violations of the Narcotic Laws, Smugzling, Counterfeiting, Immigration Laws, and certain other miscellaneous stetutes. Among the most generally known violations investigated by the Division of Investigation are the following: .
