THE UNITED STATES FJRTAU OF INVESTIGATION.
Investirative Jurisdiction.
The United Stetes Bureeu of Investigation hes the
responsitility of investigeting offenses against the lews of the
United States and collecting evidence in cases in which the United
States is or mey be a perty, end possesses primary investigative
jurisdiction of those offenses ageizst the laws of the United
States not specificslly assigned by Congressional enactment to
other Governmental agencies for investigation.
TELis Bureau dces not investigate violations of the
National Prohibition Act, the Mercotic Laws, Smuggling, Counterfeiting, |
Immigration Laws, and certain other miscellaneous statutes. .
Arong the most generally know violetions investigeted
by the United States Bureau of Investigation are the following:
Bankruptcy Act; Antitrust Lews; National Bank and
Federal Reserve Acts; Crimes on the High Seas end
. On Indien and Government Reservations; Freuds Aceinst
the Government; Impersonation; Feonage; Theft of
Government Property; Bribery of Government Officers;
Espionage; Esceped Federel Prisoners; Neutrelity
