H. S. Bureau of Inbestigation Bepartment of Justice POST OFFICE BOX 1405 CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. Ya Decenber 29, 1932. Director, United States Sureau of Investigation, Washington, D. C. Dear Sir: | . In connection with the Bureau policy of definitely establishing its identity as the United States Bureau of Investigation, I am forwarding to you the suggestion received today fron Special Agent D. C. Colladay of this office. A IWsterw . a It appears that the attention of persons to whom the credential card is exhibited falls particularly upon that part of the title "Department of Justice". This would seem to result from the fact that the general public is ote more familiar with that title than with the title "United : oOtEY States Bureau of Investigation”, and also from the fact that the latter title is printed above and closer to the so dark border of the credential card case, therefore probably Cc being less noticeable. It is suggested that attention would 9 be much more readily drawn to the title "United States Bureau "oO. of Investigation" by those words being printed in type of oe larger size than the remainder of the title in such a way ay: that they would stand out preeminently. oO dl NI Ga'T Very truly yours, WA Bund M. HE. PURVIS, Special Arent in Charge. DCC: NG RBEOORDEL papezap - Wel THE? TIGR « FER >. 45'S PAM. \- 1b-33 utc, poe Tolan ee ee re ne tr re ene re ee we
