we tions obtained in cases under investigation by this Bureau,

5162 convictions have been obtained in cases under investiga- —
tion, the total fines for the sane period being $480,044.48,
Since the enactment of the National Motor Vehicle a not
Theft act October, 1919 to April 3, 1929, there have been . ne
20,865 cars recovered in cases which have been investigated
by this Bureau. The value of these cars totals $17,759,460.56,

Ninety-nine Fugitives on whan Identificatim Orders
were issued have been apprehended, There are 915 Ident ifica~
tion Orders outstanding at the present time,

Mr. MacFarland suggests as a matter of interest to
civic organizations that this Bureau gives special attention
to aggravated violations of the White Sleve Traffic Act, where-
in the transportation involves minor girls and that most of
these victims are waitresses in cafes or restaurants. U
the victim is transported under e promise of marriage by the
subject. During the first 10 months of the fiscal year there
have been 362 convictions in this class of cases end sentences
imposed total 407 years and 9 months.
