RE: POSSIBLE THREAT AGAINST
SENATOR EUGENE MC CARTHY
DURING PROPOSED VISIT TO NASHVILLE,
TENNESSEE, JULY 20. 1968
advised the Memphis Office
of the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the following
conversation that he had overheard:
On July 13, 1963, QD stated that while
at the Starlight Dinner Club in Dickson, Tennessee, he
overheard four men conversing and during said conversation
he heard the remark that Senator McCarthy will never. leave
Nashville, Tennessee, alive.
The men also remarked that no party nominee chosen
will live to be elected President...
stated that he recognized one of the
men in the group as being a Bob Smith, not further identified.
Other than the above, GREE < ould furnish no
further information.
