0-302 (REV. 3-8-77) K; @ i FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION ; _ owe oomcatn 9/24/81 Oelwein, or a number a provided the following information: a «:-:-: that in February of 1979, he traveled: to Atlantic City, New Jersey, to , alia 3: ear auction sponsored by Kruse Auction Company, advised that he had read about the auction during the first part of February, 1979, in a newspaper entitled “Old Cars Weekly”, which is published in Iola, Wisconsin dvised that the particular issue of the newspaper tha e mentioned that the auction was . going to auction off a 1955 Chevrolet Corvette automobile, which was owned by Elvis Presley, GQUIRMED 2 vised that on February 17, 1979, he bid $34,000 for this Chevrolet Corvette which supposed] to Elvis Presley, and his bid was accepted, that the previous owner of the Corvette was who lived in West Chester, Pennsylvania. he did not nect NY until after automobile, GERM «20:50 that Kruse auctioneer definitely ed the y. aah ies cs: to be a car which was owned e sale of the purport by Elvis Presley, advised that the Corvette was displayed in a ropedeoff area which had spotlights shining on the car, and Elvis Presley’s music was being played in the background, advised that the auction was also selling xeroxed copies o e bill of sale of the automobile, which indicated that the Corvette was purchased from Don Allen Chevrolet in New York City on January 18, 1955, by Elvis Presley advised the Vehicle Identification Number for the Corvette ¥555001102.
