when Alvin Karpis and Yolores Velaney first arrived in Cleveland, however,
they occupied a residence at 18109 Flaminge Street. This propepty was owned
by the William J. Mitchell Real Estate organization, William JT Mitchell
being the head of said organization. It is polnted out te you that Willies
J. Mitchell is a very close associate of Arthur ¥. Hebebrand and James
“Shimmy” Patton and is alleged to have an interest in the Harvard Club,
of Cleveland, Ohic, which is owned and operated by Hebebrand and Patton.
Karpis and Dolores Delaney then moved to 3973 West 140th Street, where the
property was rented from the A. W. Hebebread Organization, Inc., of 971
Dennison Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio. This property was rented by Karois on
July 6, 1934. The property located at 4419 West 17lst Street, which was
eceupled by Fred Barker and was rented in the name of John b%e
E. Matterson. This property was Likewlae rented from the William J.
Mitchell Real Estate organization. Ib is shown, however, that the
residence occupied by darry Campbell at 7009 franklin Hovlevard was not
rented from elther the Hebebrand or Mitchell interests.
At about 11:00 A. #. on May 11, 1936, I teleghonically com-
municated with Special Agent } of the Cleveland Office, to as-
certain further details with regard to Lieutenant fight. He stated that
the Vlevelund Office snows very Little concerning MO#t, but informed be
that Wolt has a reputation for making good arrests. He ia likewise re-
ported to be an excellent politician end also gets along well with the
"hoodlums". It is reported that Wol# adopts the policy that one cannot
aeke cases by going to Sunday Scheel and, therefore, he uses this explanation
stated tha URRETTEMSie Whit has made some good cases. further stated
thas it is no nis impression that Lieut@mant Wolf was with the officers
who. msde inquiry at 7009 Franklin Soulevard where Agents were making &
raid on the residence previously oecupled by Harry Campbell.
