The "New York Times" in its ‘esue ‘of February h; 1947, Page ‘Lo,
contains the following story relating to the National Conference on the
German Problem:
‘Pointing out that ‘twice within a generation, the American —
people have had to defend themselves against a predatory and ruthless = ~*"" |
Germany, MRS. FRANKLIN Dj{HOOSEVELT and EDGAR ANSEL’MOWRER, newspaperman,
invited 500 prominent Anericans yesterday to attend a conference on the German
problem at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotelon March 6. ° The letters were sent on
behalf of the newly formed committee of the National Conference on the German
coblem, 515 Madison Avenue.
"The letters urged Americans to 're-examine the German problem
and support the implementation of those principles which were orn
, established by the allies to prevent the resurgence of a strong Germany? .

among other members of the sponsoring committee are DOCTOR

In its issue of March 7; 1947, on Page 11, the "New York Times"
reported as follows concerning the National Conference on the German Problem
eid at New York on March 6, 197:
“WA national conference on the problem of Germany, convoked —__
by MAS ¥RS. FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT and EDGAR ANSEL MOWRER, framed yesterday a.
spigm to implement the Yalta and Potsdam agreements. It will be sent to ©
the “american delegation at the Moscow Conference and to the United States
Government «
"The conference met all day at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel,
nowcliding with a dinner. Seventy-five persons, many of them publicists
active in crystallizing sentiment on foreign policy, attended the morning and
alternoon session.
