It was noted in the letter which forwarded to the
Director under date of November 14,'1940, a photos e copy of which
is in instant file, that it was his _impression that such Fascist activi~
ties as have been conducted in the New York area were not looked upon
with favor by the Italian officials, both here and abroad. He indicates
that there were various educational societies but that they carried on
educational activities and were not intended for the purpose of spread
ine the doctrine of Fascism. He goes on to say that the activities of
the anti-Fascists have been such that they have been a disturbing element
among the Italian people and indicates that the Fascist group has only
one small newspaper which he terms of insignificant influence, while
the anti-Fascist group carries on their propaganda on a much wider
a os
scale in their magazine "2h Mondo.”
Instant file reflects that a letter was directed by the New
York Field Office to the Bureau under date of March 28, 1941 in wiich
the results of an interview with by an agent of this office
were set forth. It will be note terview that Criscuclo
pointed out that in his opinion the Fascists were no worse than the
anti-Fascists in this country and that he thought something should be
done to curb the spirit of anti-Fascism in New York City.

New York City, at which time he de at great length on his background
and his activities for the United States Government in the sale of
Liberty Bonds and other patriotic work curing the lest war and stated
_that he was willing to engage in any project in which the Government
wished to use him in the present situation, He advised that he carries
ona wide correspondence with Government officials and various newspapers
throughout the country and pointed out that he had called Mrs, Roosevelt's
atvention to the fact that various “tallans had heen and were being
| discriminated against because they were of Italian descent in connection
_ with jobs in the National Defense industries at the present times He
stated that his articles so favorably impressed Mrse-Roosevelt that
she devoted en entire column under the heading oMy Day* to the injustice
which has occurred in some instances to people of foreign extraction
