DICGS,\ MRS. ROSA GRAGG, WILLIAU Ie’SHentLL, Negro, and HORACE“WHITE, Negro. Endorsements had been received for this meeting from UCPWA-vIC Lecal 663 and from the'NAACP branches. sureau Informant further stated that it was the scheme of the sponsors of this affair to cover up the vommunistic background of the meeting by the use of several non-Communist sponsors. ‘the Michigan Chronicle" carried an item on August 8, 1942, which described the tremendous interest show in the Win the War Nally. Accord- ing to the newspaper, vice -‘President HENRY \iALLALE sent his personal endorse- nt to the rally. An endorsement had also been received from Mrs. HLEANOK a HOOSEVELT which stated as follows: "TY am very much interested to hear of your Win the far rally on August | 9, 1942. Lieutenant MINDRY, according to the informant, endorsed the rally and Longressnan O'F:CEN -rid that he also favored the freedom of India.
