Informant advised that the Eleventh tiard Branch of the cont hn \
Party of Baltimore convened at subject bookshop, at which time the National
Anthem was played to open the meeting. :
It was announced that ALEX &. oP Tin:sELL, Treasurer of the Com
sapast Party of Maryland, who is presently attending Cornell University
taking some additional graduate work, would return to Baltimore in t
for the next branch meeting. With regard to a meeting to be held at’CTlub
Convoy, 1630 Bank Street, on October 19, 1943, at which BOYSKUDSON (National
Office) was scheduled to speak, it was made known that admittance could be
gained only by membership card. The program of the various branches in
-registering all members has apparently bogged down, and the necessity of

by the Party tq combat the rise of prices through an organized price control
program at the Price Control Center, the Frederick Douglass Bookshop, had
evhausted itself due to members’ failure to show interest in the work and to

cussed the sale of the "Daily Worker" und impressed his audience with the
thought that they should interest customers with the contents of the paper . .-
