‘** Bulletin", to which no reference was made in the cormunication. Titles of the
articles therein are "I.S.S. AND THE YOUTH MOVEMENT" "PACIFIST WORK CALPS",
"J.6.5. NOTES", and "DR. GIDEONSE OW WORK CAMPS", The publication is identified
as Volume 1, Nos 2, February, 1941, It is indicated that this pamphlet is pub-
lished “at frequent intervals" by the I. 5S. 5. at the above wew York City address.
The inside front cover of this pamphlet lists the names of num
erous persons who compose the alleged Executive Committee, National Committee,
Staff and Patrons of the prganization, Among the names in the firat group appear
those of Mrs. FRANKLIN DJ ROOSEVELT, kes. DWIGHT/MORROW, ARCHIBALTY NacLEISH,
“ SWILLIAM Af NEILSON and aniong the "Patrons" are listed ALBEXT/EINSTSIN and
HODERT/ UMILLIKAN.
The latter part of the article entitled "I.5.S. ait> Til YOUTH
MOVEMENT" (by Joseph P. Lash) states, in part, "I.S. S. today is uncovering the
wast resources of leadership that exist on the campus. It is the training
school of student democracy. 4t is becoming increasingly clear that mankind
_ will never go back to the post-Versailles status quo, it is not at all clear
* what the picture will be in a few years and how much that is good in democracy
will survive.......If anti-democratic forees are allowed to secure a monopoly
on the articulate youth leadership today, they will have a decisive hold on the
future,*
Dr. HARRY D,-GIDEONSE, it is stated, is 39 years of age, Dutch-
bern, and. oon Potent ere of Brooklyn College, - In the interview with GIDEONMSE
_ by one ROBERT G4 Gé SPIVACK, the former gave the opinion that while Work Camps are
_- hot a panacea for all social ilis, he does believe that they help to overcome
