CRCCEETT asked whether HAROLD“ICKES and \rs./MOOSEVELT had been members of that nationel committee and whether Congresswoman HELEN GAHAGANADOUGLAS had spoken in Detroit in connection with the strike, , (TR. 3364) GORDCN objected and was sustained. CCCE said he had no knowledge of the fact that FREDRICY BARCH had spoken in Detroit in connection with the strike. CROCKETT asked whether COOK recalled that an election had been conducted by the NLRB under the Smith-Connally Act prior te the strike, that there had been a vote takén by the union itself, and who called the GM strike. (TR. 3365) GORDON objected to these cuestions and was sustained. CROCKETT asked whether ‘VINTER had mentioned the strike had been called after - labor board vote by the International Executive Board of the union. (TR. 3365) GORDON objected and was overruled. COOK said he did not recall. (TR. 3366) The Court then told CROCKETT that the General Motors strike was not an issue in the case before the Court, and recommended that CROCKETT assume another line of questioning. + CCCK said that he recalléd that “TINTER had called attention to the fact that the strike was led by “ALT<k REUTHER. He said he did not know whether REUTHER Fas a Commnist. CPOCKETT. asked whether CCOK knew that there were any people other than Communists who were supporting the strike. (Th. 2367) GCRDON objected and was sustained. COCK said that he had made notes on certain of the remarks made by TIM .. TUCK, as well as en the speech of CARL JINTER. He said that these notes were made imveriately following the meeting, which adjourned shortly after 11:00 peMe, and prepared his report the following morning. He said that CARL WINTER in his speech made no comment on the speech made by BUCK, nor did he contradict anything that BUCK had said.
