He'll appreciate it greatly, I'm sure, s/ EDWARD ABBEY The March 1h, 1951, issue of the "New Mexico Daily lobo", a publication at the University of New Mexico, reflects a letter to the editor which is as follows: "In this day of the cold war, which every day shows signs of becoming warmer, the individual who finds himself opposed to war is apt to feel very much out of step with his fellow citizens. As an isolated individual he feels desperately inadequate either to check the tide or to make significant con- tributions which might serve to remove the occasion of wars. He feels, nevertheles the essential wrongness of war and is searching for an alternative. - "On the UNM campus such a group--it includes both students and faculty ~-has formed to discuss the implications and possibilities of resistance to war. This group has no political or religious affiliations. Although not desiring to create an organization, this group feels the need of informal association.
