The May 1, 1959, issue of the "Soviet News", a periodical published by the Press Department of the Soviet Embassy ir London, featured an article concerning the awards of the International Lenin Peace Prize for 1958, which indicated that Du Bois and Nikita Khrushchev were among the individuals awarded the Lenin Peace Prize (LPP). The "New York Times", issue of Mav 4, 1959, page 3, contained an-article under the date, Moscow, May 3, 1959, which was concerned with the repertine thas Du Bois was the third American to win the LPP, and the article quoted Du Beis in part as follows: "T heve never been a member of the Communist Party" ...."But I think Communism is the best system for all countries after this trip."...
