From the contents of Colonel KOPETZKY'S letter, it was noted that . the findings of the arny at the Fort Jay Military Hospital were .b/C arrived at independently of the findings submitted by Dr. JANET McKENZIE RIOCH, who is the subject's personal physician, and it appears she was engaged by the subject immediately subsequent to the successful passing of his pre-induction physical examination on Septecber 27, 1943. ; It will be further noted that there is no indication in the corres- pondence reviewed at Selective Service Headquarters that subject was malinger- — ing, nor any question as to whether or not the arny physicians either at the Grand Central Induction Station or at Jay Milit Ho LIZUTENANT J.T. CUMMISKEY, Intelligence Officer, Centra) I om Bew York, New York, . G&eutenant COMMISKEY provided writer with the medical scratch sheets reflecting that a pre-induction and induction examination were given the subject September 27 and October 30, 1943 respectively. : These scratch sheets were reviewed and in connection with the scratch sheet dated September 27, 1943 entitled "Pre-induction Physical Rramination"®, A it was noted that all items bearing numbers 39 through 89 were marked normal or negative with the exception of item 50, which bears the following notation! *Musculo-skeletal = History of backache for past several years = clinically ot B.D." It will be noted that the notation "N.D." ae used by Induction Station ye - Authorities means non-deferable. Marked in a blue stamp on this scratch sheet As is the notation "accepted. OP, Under item entitled "Furlough Stamp" the following notation was oF observed: oo . oe Fe "1. Set of 221 Forms 2. Medical letters of Dr. Weller 2. Letters of transmittal 1. xray films." The reverse side of this scratch sheet, 4t was noted, was not filled in, but attached to the reverse side was a white paper entitled "Report of X-ray Examinations", dated September 27, 1943, and stamped
